Municipal Water Supply Planning

Under Colorado law, municipalities must follow the same procedures and protocol as other individuals with regard to water rights, but they also have to anticipate and plan for growth. Since its inception in 1973, Moses, Wittemyer, Harrison and Woodruff, P.C. has worked successfully with the Town of Frisco and the Cities of Salida, Walsenburg and others to develop water master plans and other municipal water supply plans as well as successfully obtain Water Court decrees for new water rights, changes of water rights, exchanges and plans for augmentation. In this capacity, we collaborate with a number of well-respected water rights experts and engineers, with offices and expertise across the state.
